Coach David Hay grew up a competetive swimmer with big sis Kim, starting out at the ripe early age of 6,
and through to his freshman year at Columbia University. He achieved Oregon Top 5 status for several years as an
age group swimmer, and competed several times at the Far Westerns and Western Zone levels during that time. This past year (spring 2010), after a 21 year hiatus,
he got the personal swimming bug again and is now actively competing with the PCC Masters swimming team. He is very excited having now broken
into the Oregon All-Time Top 12 for his present age group, with 6 events already this year (and counting).
Notably, for his age group, he is recently ranked Top 10 in the nation for 50 LCM and SCM Br, and 100 SCM Br.
He also has been head coaching these past 4 years (and counting) for Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, OR during their winter
high school swim season, and had been a substitute coach for the Lake Oswego Swim Club for 3 years.
When not working on perfecting the art of blowing awesome bubbles in the water and teaching others how to do the same, he enjoys composing with his keyboard,
and his work with web development, hosting and web design with various clients and entrepreneurial endeavors.

My name is Amy Brandt, I am 24 years old, and Lifeguard for Portland Community College. I began swimming at
Rivers Edge, with Kim as my coach, in 1996. I then tried out for the Lake Oswego Swim Club in 1998, which
I swam for through junior high and high school. I also swam for the Lakeridge High School Swim Team.
My senior year I was captain of the swim team and also played for the water polo team. I graduated in 2003 and
was admitted to Oregon State University where I played water polo. In 2005 I took a few years off school to work
for PetSmart, but now plan to graduate from Portland State University in the next year or two, and major in
Environmental Science.

Coach Stacia found her love for swimming on a competitive year round AAU team in the 70's and 80's from the ages of 6-14 near Morro Bay California. She traveled with her team to San Diego in 1980 and completed her first open water mile at the La Jolla cove Rough water swim at the age of 12. She also swam varsity in San Diego county for both Helix high school team her freshman and the team at Point Loma High her sophomore year. She walked away from swimming for 23 years and eventually raised a family. She has two daughters ages 18 and 15. In 2007 she sought out swimming as a low impact cardio exercise to make some big lifestyle changes after ignoring doctors advice to seek weight loss surgery. As a result she has reclaimed her love for the sport, her health, her mobility and managed to accomplish to loose 169lbs so far and changed not only her life, but of those around her also. Her passion for the water and fitness swimming for life is infectious and genuine.
Her employment history up until recently and education background lies in early childhood education, so her choice to transfer to a more active job of swim instructor and now coaching was a natural one to her. She has lots of experience with children and has creative approaches to working with kids that might have special needs.
She currently swims competitively for the PCC masters swim team and has several open water events and swim meets planned this year. She also has completed two sprint triathlons this past year and has her sights set on completing an ironman by the end of 2013. She also dragon boats with PCC Zen Dragons with her eldest daughter who captains that team.
